Where shall we start? The past few years have been exceptional for Atmire. The team has been growing rapidly, both in terms of headcount and in new functions that have emerged from ever changing client needs. When we moved to our new office space some years ago we were convinced we’d never run out of space. Well… last week I hit the back of my desk chair against the wall. Seems like we literally almost have run out of space.
Even though we were pretty surprised by how fast everything is going in the team, we were even more surprised by the amount of clients that have joined us in recent months. Over the last couple of years we were already growing steadily (for which we are very grateful to our clients). But in the past 8 months alone, 23 new repository projects were initiated. We never really kept score, but this sure is an all time record.
Atmire continues its path forward, serving as an innovator in the Institutional Repository landscape, and solutions provider for Education and Research institutions regardless of their size and capacity, so everyone can operate a qualitative repository system Lieven Droogmans, CEO of Atmire
Part of our success we’re definitely owing to DSpace 7. Ever since the launch of version 7 (and even well before), people we’re ringing our doorbell to make the move towards this next generation repository. The introduction of the configurable entities model and the live import framework with many integrated sources were key contributors to the success of DSpace 7
We are excited to see what the future holds for Atmire and are grateful for the support of our clients and partners who have helped us reach this point. With the launch of DSpace 7, we are confident that we can continue to provide high-quality repository systems to institutions of all sizes and capacities.
