Alma College is a private liberal arts college in Michigan. Since 1886, Alma College has been helping students develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive. Alma College was maintaining its in-house DSpace (version 6.3) but decided to work with Atmire as its repository partner. This decision led to the migration and setup of The Alma College Institutional Repository on DSpace Express.

DSpace migration

The project involved migrating from Alma College’s in-house DSpace 6.3 system to a DSpace Express on DSpace 7. This process included transferring all content, existing SOLR statistics, and previous configuration settings.

The outcome is a new and state-of-the-art DSpace Express that preserves all existing statistics while hosting 12,151 open-access items.
