Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced People and Culture Specialist to join our HR team at Atmire in Leuven (Belgium). This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about creating employee wellbeing and engagement solutions, who thrives in a people-centric environment. While our current HR team focuses on compliance and recruitment, we are looking for someone who can be the face of HR to our team, managing payroll and other HR functions, while also being a proactive advocate for our employees’ happiness and satisfaction. We are open for this position to be either full-time or part-time, and we would expect that the individual could work every business day at a minimum of 50%.

Key Responsibilities (non-exhaustive):

Employee Wellbeing & Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding all HR-related matters, fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture. Develop and implement wellbeing initiatives that promote a healthy work-life balance, mental health, and overall employee satisfaction.

Payroll Management: Oversee and manage all aspects of payroll, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Collaborate with the finance team to maintain compliance with payroll regulations and resolve any payroll-related issues promptly.

Employee Relations: Provide support and guidance to employees on a wide range of HR topics, including conflict resolution, performance feedback, and career development. Ensure that employees feel heard and valued, and advocate for their needs within the company.

Succession planning, onboarding and talent engagement: Create new full cycle onboarding and off-boarding procedures and ad-hoc solutions for future expansion in the business based on talent management processes.

Benefits & Perks Management: Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks. Continuously review and suggest improvements to our benefits offerings to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.

HR Administration: additional support for current day-to-day HR operations, including maintaining employee records, fleet management, handling HR documentation, and further compliance with internal policies that need assistance.

Culture Champion: Be a culture ambassador who actively promotes and nurtures the company’s values and mission. Organize team-building activities and events that enhance team cohesion and reinforce our company culture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch. Fluency in French or Spanish are optional advantages.
  • 3-5 years of experience in HR, with a focus on employee wellbeing, engagement, or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new software tools quickly, with prior experience in Apple Mac environments a plus.
  • Experience managing a variety of internal HR processes and systems
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a natural ability to build trust and rapport with employees.
  • Proactive, innovative and action-oriented individual who is willing to partner with management to create new People & Wellbeing processes from scratch.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and confidentiality.
  • Passionate about creating a positive work environment and enhancing employee satisfaction.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
